The firm will provide expert compliance guidance for research institutions navigating complex data security challenges.

Atlanta, GA – Frazier & Deeter (FD), a nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm, is proud to announce its role as the inaugural and exclusive partner in launching the Regulated Research Community of Practice (RRCoP)’s groundbreaking “Ask the Assessor” program. This initiative provides RRCoP members with expert-driven insights into evolving compliance and data security requirements, equipping leading research institutions with actionable regulatory solutions.

Ask the Assessor is designed to address compliance challenges through real-world, anonymized use cases submitted by RRCoP’s research community. FD will also leverage its deep understanding of high-performance computing (HPC) environments to help research institutions strike a balance between advanced computational needs and secure data controls.

“This program is about giving research institutions practical, expert-backed guidance they can apply directly to their compliance strategies,” said Andrew Hicks, FD Advisory Partner. “By analyzing real compliance scenarios and providing clear insights on assessment approaches for frameworks and regulations such as HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI DSS, NIST 800-171, CMMC and ISO standards, we aim to help research leaders proactively address regulatory challenges while maintaining their focus on groundbreaking research.”

RRCoP represents over 330 research institutions across the US and internationally, serving as a vital resource for compliance education and advocacy. “By working with Frazier & Deeter, we can provide our members with concrete, experience-based strategies for navigating today’s regulatory landscape,” said Carolyn Ellis, RRCoP Lead. “The Ask the Assessor program gives institutions access to a trusted reference library for compliance recommendations, helping build confidence in their practices.”

In 2024, FD launched University Data Security Solutions, a comprehensive suite of services designed to help universities safeguard sensitive research data. Ask the Assessor is a combination of this industry-leading compliance service and RRCoP’s institutional insight and expertise. The partnership will create a library of compliance strategies and resources specific to the needs of the research community.
