A Deliberately Developmental Organization
We are deliberate in our actions to create a sustainable culture focused on improvement and supporting our people and clients daily. Our efforts to becoming a Deliberately Developmental Organization (DDO) are featured in An Everyone Culture by the Harvard Business Review. FD’s unique approach to people development has also been highlighted by the Georgia Society of CPAs and Inside Public Accounting.
IDEA
FD’s IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Awareness) committee works with team members across all offices and service lines to build and sustain an environment where everyone feels welcome and supported. The firm takes a multi-pronged approach to embedding inclusivity into recruiting, training, processes, social activities and culture at all levels. FD’s IDEA mission statement is “To foster an inclusive and equitable environment where diversity and authenticity are valued, and individuals thrive personally and professionally.”
FD is proud to have been recognized for the percentage of women at the partnership level and within the firm; we are honored to regularly be named a Top 10 Best Firm for Women in the US by the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance and the American Women’s Society of CPAs.
Supporting Our Communities
Investing in relationships includes actively engaging in the communities we serve. We call our collective impacts to help others “FDImpact.” Each year, we choose a charity to support as a firm. This tradition started a few years ago when one of our FD partners was battling Parkinson’s; we held a year-long campaign to support Parkinson’s research. Since then, our FDImpact Committee solicits ideas from across the firm to determine a focus for our fundraising efforts each year. In 2017, we decided to join the fight against childhood cancer and raised over $30,000 for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Community Service Day
Every year, FD closes our offices for a day so our team can spend time in service together. Each office chooses a local charity that has an impact on the community. Then, all of us roll up our sleeves and get to work.
Personal Involvement
We encourage our people to get involved with nonprofit organizations that align with their personal passions. Our nonprofit foundation, The FD Foundation, enables employees to take advantage of matching funds from the firm to support their causes.
We also offer grants that any team member can apply for to bring financial support to a non-profit organization. We also encourage everyone across the firm to volunteer at least 12 hours per year.
Community Events
Throughout the year, FD hosts various services activities, including food drives, toy drives, back-to-school supplies, toiletries for the homeless and more. We believe that investing in relationships to make a difference applies to every area of our lives.
