Financial Statement Audits

Audits provide the highest level of assurance that your company’s financial statements fairly and accurately represent your financial position and ensure operations and cash flows are in accordance with US accounting principles. Audits must be conducted by a third-party CPA independent of your company and require full disclosure of all necessary financial statements.

Reviews

An audit is not always necessary to validate your financial reporting; a review is a mid-tier assurance procedure that provides more reliance than a compilation but is not as invasive as an audit. For simple reporting of your financial position to third parties, such as regulatory agencies or creditors, a financial review provides inquiry and analytical procedures applied to financial data without the need for outside verification.

Compilations

Compilations are typically used by smaller entities or businesses that require financial statements for internal purposes or for presentation to third parties. A compilation is an assembly of financial statements based on information supplied by management and does not involve verification or testing of data. While providing no assurance regarding the accuracy or completeness of the financial statements, compilations present financial information in a structured and organized format following standard accounting principles.
